Interarts

Interarts launches this portal as a key element in the research that the foundation is carrying out on cultural rights and the role of culture in human development. The portal gathers information and documents on themes such as cultural rights, human development, cultural indicators, culture and human rights, and cultural diversity. The portal offers as well information on the current projects in these fields carried out by Interarts or elsewhere, and news on relevant issues. The portal aims at being an useful tool for researchers, policy makers and the civil society by offering a platform for interaction and information.

Pre-Dialogie Regional Meetings

Within the framework of the Universal Forum of Cultures, Interarts Foundation organised three seminars with local partners in three different regions. These seminars were held in Maputo, Mozambique; Sao Paolo, Brazil and Amman, Jordan and they served as a first step for the exchange of ideas on themes that were later discussed and further explored in Barcelona during the Dialogue on Cultural Rights and Human Development (23 - 27 August, 2004).

F�rum Barcelona 2004

Between 24 and 27 August, 2004, the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation, the Interarts Foundation and Forum 2004 organised a Dialogue on Cultural Rights and Human Development together with the Office of the High Commissioner of Human Rights of the United Nations, UNESCO and the Office of the Human Development Report of the United Nations Development Programme. This international conference was organised within the framework of the Universal Forum of Cultures Barcelona 2004. The Conference had as an objective to stimulate the debate on culture and development in the 21st century regards two working lines. First, the current debate on cultural rights, especially the right to take part in cultural life and second, the study on the contribution of culture in human development.
